![]() But let’s be honest: we all know how useless and unproductive these meetings can get most of the time. Zoom (and other similar apps) are meant to offer communication tools that allow you to actually talk with your colleagues, host virtual team building sessions and share ideas, your screen, and so on. This means that communication and collaboration isn't something everybody will get on a daily basis. But when you have a remote job or are part of a distributed team, that's not always an option. To get around this, type it out as above in the “notes” area and then copy it and paste it into the phone number area. When you work in the office, you get the option to interact with your colleagues face-to-face. If you are going to save it as a contact, remember you can’t type commas in the phone number block. So, text this to yourself, email it, save as a contact, whatever else you think of. I have saved all the meetings I attend like this in my contacts and quickly dial-in without any issues. Just know, you have to do this ahead of time, because you can’t dial ,’s from your phone pad. My personal line has a leader pin as well so I do this: The commas are read as pauses and will dial the conference code when prompted. If the number is 80 and the conference pin is 5024132132 and you have to hit a # after it, you can format it like this and your smart phone will do all the work for you. Now, I set myself up for success by pre-typing the number and code to auto-dial. Thanks to this trick, all that is a thing of the past. Even when I am prepared, I am annoyed with the dialing of the number, long conference pin, and then some lines have a leader pin. ![]() I don’t know about you, but I can never find the conference code or pin when I actually need it and have to fumble around looking for it as my OWA crashes. Due to us working from home, there are many more conference calls.
